The Blueprint for Your Campervan
Use this guide to understand how your choices shape your living space.
Which size van to go for?
Length: Vans tend to come in four lengths; short (L1), medium (L2), long (L3) & extra long (L4) wheelbase. We have based our conversions on the Medium (L2) and Long (L3) versions.
Height: Vans tend to come in 3 different heights; low top (H1), high top (H2) & extra high top (H3). Our conversions are designed around high top (H2) range.
To put that all together; youβre look for either of these as a base van:
Medium Wheelbase (MWB)
L2H2
5.35m long
Long Wheelbase (LWB)
L3H2
6m long
Required for a Compact-Shower install
Both options have an internal height of 1.86m once converted.
Berth / Sleeping
How many beds do you need? One double bed is our baseline. From here we can add a further double bed as a bunk above, or install a Pop-top with space for two inside.
2 Berth
We keep our beds fixed and at the back of the camper for functionality and ease of use. The bed height in our 2 berth can be installed at 2 different heights* - 650mm or 900mm off the finished floor.
4 Berth Bunks
This is our most popular option for families! The double bunks will fit in both the MWB and the LWB base van. The bottom bunk measures 185cm x 130cm and the top bunk 178cm x 130cm.
NB - The top bunk is adjustable so you can fold it out of the way during the day or if you require additional storage.
4 Berth Pop-top
This is a great option if you want to keep the main living space as open as possible and have the 2 additional beds out of the way.
Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)
Off-grid for weeks at a time or simple, short overnighters? Whatever your requirements are, be confident youβve got the right level of kit to cater for your needs:
Lite
This is an entry-level setup designed for those who mainly stay on campsites or enjoy shorter off-grid trips. The 314Ah lithium battery will typically keep you going for around 2β3 days with average use.
When itβs time to recharge, you can plug into campsite hook-up, top up while driving via the battery-to-battery charger, or make use of the 120W solar panel when the sunβs out.
Youβll have a straightforward, reliable setup including 12V power, cold water, gas hob, blown-air heating and internal water storage β ideal for keeping things simple while still having the essentials covered.
Specification:
Lithium 314aH battery, 12v power, cold water, gas hob, blown air heater. 120w solar, internal water storage.
Medium
Designed for people who want to spend longer away from campsites, the Medium package moves to a fully gas-free setup for simpler day-to-day use. The larger 460Ah lithium battery gives you more freedom off-grid, with enough capacity for typical touring and longer stays.
You get both 12V and 240V power thanks to a 1.6kW inverter, plus a single induction hob, cold water system and diesel heating. A 200W solar panel helps keep the batteries topped up, while underslung water tanks free up valuable interior space.
This is a great middle ground for customers who want more independence without going fully βall-inβ on the electrical system.
Specification:
Lithium 460aH battery, 12v & 240v power, cold water, single induction hob, diesel heater. 200w solar panel & 1.6kW inverter. Underslung water tanks.
Full
This is the ultimate off-grid setup β designed for customers who want maximum comfort and the ability to stay away from campsites for extended periods. With a substantial 628Ah lithium battery, larger solar array and powerful 3kW inverter, youβll have the capacity to run everyday appliances with ease.
The system is completely gas-free and includes 12V and 240V power, double induction hob, hot and cold running water via the Truma Combi system, and blown-air heating. Underslung water tanks maximise interior space and make this package ideal for full touring use.
This level is a prerequisite to a built-in shower, giving you true home-from-home capability wherever you park.
Specification:
Lithium 628aH battery, 12v & 240v power, HOT & cold water (Truma combi),double induction hob, blown air heater. 400w solar panel & 3kW inverter. Underslung water tanks.
Windows & Ventilation
Incredible views or cosy solitude? Perhaps itβs a bit of both? Weβve offer 2 levels of Window & ventilation coverage to suit your needs.
2 Side windows & Skylight.
A straightforward window setup that gives good natural light without opening up the van too much.
Two side windows brighten the main living area, and the skylight adds extra light and ventilation. A practical choice for customers who prefer a simpler layout with a slightly more enclosed feel.
3 Side windows, 2 Rear windows + Maxxair fan + Skylight
A more open glazing and ventilation package designed to improve light, airflow and visibility.
Extra side and rear windows increase natural light and make the space feel larger, while the Maxxair fan provides controlled airflow to help with cooling and condensation management. Well suited to regular off-grid use and warmer conditions.
The 2 Windows & Skylight, plus this bed window and vent fan.
Layout / Seats
What are the seating arrangements? Whether youβre 2 or 4 berth, thereβs a couple of seating configurations to choose from..
βFixedβ
A traditional layout where the cab remains separate from the main living space.
The dining area features two opposing benches with a table between, creating a comfortable social space. For 4-berth builds, the forward-facing bench includes seatbelts for travel.
βSwivelβ
The cab seats rotate to become part of the living area, creating a more open and integrated layout.
By using the front seats within the dining space, one rear bench is no longer needed β freeing up valuable room in the back of the van, creating a more spacious feel and giving the option to install a compact shower.
Shower & Toilet
Itβs quite a luxury to have a shower & toilet in your campervan, but is it possible with a particular specification of van: LWB, Swivel Seats & the Full M&E package.
No Shower
A clean, open layout focused on maximising living space.
Without a built-in washroom, the interior feels more spacious and flexible β ideal for customers who mainly use campsite facilities or prefer a simpler setup.
Shower*
A compact built-in shower designed to add everyday comfort without dominating the layout.
Carefully integrated into the interior, it provides the convenience of onboard washing while keeping the main living area practical and usable.
*Available on LWB vans with the Full M&E package and Swivel Seats.
Shower & Removable Toilet*
Adds full washroom flexibility to the compact shower layout.
A removable toilet provides extra independence for off-grid stays while keeping the space adaptable for day-to-day use.
*Available on LWB vans with the Full M&E package and Swivel Seats.
